Answer to Why do so many poor people still believe in capitalism? by James Thayer I think that people (the US or otherwise) are just largely misinformed about how money is dealt with in their own country's economy. Capitalism works for the wealthy and those that actually have capital. If you work for yourself/have a business and make $30K/year then that's awesome for you. Someone can get a job and make the same amount, and yes taxes and expenses on those earnings will vary. Also, if you've come from an impoverished country with a failed state and think that things are so much better in the US, it might be worth exploring as to why your country is like that in the first place. Looking both internally and externally.
