U.K. based. Have a job that until recently I loved (currently 3 years) Good direct manager, accounting in a small company. Company has expanded 3 times in less than a year and still just me on accounts. Long story short, I haven’t been able to progress for 3 years due to overwork and not having the time. Complained I needed help recently, specified my needs to direct manager such as basic accounting help and they need to know the software etc, then suddenly the head of company has hired an apprentice who can’t even use excel, without my knowledge or involvement, so the last couple weeks I have had to train them on basic principles on top of my work load. Had one raise in 3 years. I had a breakdown last week and now been signed off for a month. Not a peep from head of company to check in or even talk to me. They have now assured me they are seeking a temp to take over me and help when I’m back so at least they are being proactive but have I been just wearing rose tinted glasses all this time? I work fully from home which is a huge plus, but I can get a £8k more when I look at other jobs going. They have expressed they can’t lose me and my CV is very good so if I wanted to I could easily look elsewhere
