I wasn't sure where to post this and this needs a LOT of context as to why I'm asking on Reddit.
I applied for this Job at Wawa back in April, they contacted me in May and asked for me to start working. I couldn't because to keep it short I didn't have ID I was a highschool drop out and the DMV was supposed to have already sent my ID at this point but they were lazy. I had to keep the job on hold for 2 – 3 weeks waiting for my ID to come in before I could start. I came down there ASAP when it did.
The thing was that the job was at least three cities away from where I lived and while that's fine, the bus for some reason couldn't have taken me to the job or anywhere near it. I have sweating problems so either I would turn up to work late or sweaty every time. And had no consistent transportation besides the bus. I asked to transfer to a Wawa closer to my area. They obliged and told me to apply to a Wawa a city away from where I lived. I'd only done 4 hours of computer training at the job.
I came into this new wawa applied, and they said It'd be a swift transfer. I did this in the beginning of June. The whole of June went by no calls to come into work. July 1rst I called the Wawa they said they'd hire me soon. July 15th after constant calling from the 12th to 14th they finally called me back to come in. Keep in mind I'd apparently been on “schedule” the entire time at the previous wawa even though besides that day in computer training I'd never been inside there since. My current manager had remarked it was weird. I did computer training at this new wawa, had to take money out of my non existent paycheck to pay for Wawa work clothes that the other Wawa had lost as well as work shoes and I had to hurry up and buy pants of my own with the very little money I had.
When I asked the manager the next time he'd call me in to actually start working since I haven't even done work training at this point he once again said “soon” Its August. I just want to quit at this point. The spark of having my first job is gone. I don't know how, or if this would mess up my “work record” to see I quit from a job I seemingly started.
TLDR; I want to quit. The job has been stringing me along for months even though I've technically been hired. Not sure what to do any direction?
