I've noticed a never ending cycle of new cleaning businesses start up then fail in my town. There are big cleaning businesses that are already established and have their clients, but there's so much more available cleaning contracts. So people start up their own business.

First they work to get as many clients as they can to actually start getting a decent paycheck.
Then they realise that they can't work 7 days a week 16 hour days, so they hire someone.

The person they hire only gets payed a portion of the fee the company gets, usually minimum wage. They then find out very quickly that the contract pays out much more than the amount they're getting, and since it only usually needs a vacuum to do the job, they start their own business to get the full amount for their work. They then take over the contract as they were the actual one cleaning that place anyway, the first cleaner starts to struggle and quits as they can't do it alone anymore, leaving more contracts to be picked up by the new one.

Rinse and repeat.
