Ways to get around the 4 week notice requirement

I’m a exempt salaried employee in Florida. I’m considering quitting my job. I’m interviewing and feel that one of the jobs if offered, will work. A few weeks ago, I contacted HR and asked hypothetical questions, such as if I could take any days off during my “notice” if they were pre-approved . A few weeks ago, I contacted HR and asked hypothetical questions, such as if I could take any days off during my “notice” if they were pre-approved . I was told yes, but I would have to make those days up because I’m required to work four weeks.

I’m not a manager or supervisor. I was told if I don’t satisfy this notice I wouldn’t be paid for any vacation hours I have left, and I wont be rehireable with the company.

I don’t have a problem with the company, and it’s one of the biggest employers in the city I live. The management in my department is terrible. Poor management, mixed with a little prejudice, racism, and sexism. However not enough of each to report and have a case.

I considered going the medical route, however I’m not sure if my therapist saying that me working a full month would be detrimental to my well-being. I just know my job will make me miserable.

Especially if I have to make up time during my four week notice.
