Throwaway
The COO of my company who I report to, bless their soul, is a good leader and very switched on but is so results driven in the wrong areas doesn't understand that not automating certain practices is frustrating our staff, not not having social events.
Recently, the COO messed up by not staying on top of a booking. I was in charge of asking to change the booking but because we did it too late the company wanted the full amount… It was part of the cancellation policy. We negotiated down to 75% of the cost but it ended up being $50,000.
So we just spent $50,000 on literally nothing because the COO didn't bother to stay on top of our bookings.
We're a start up, trying to establish correct practices and to save money. This is not a good look.
It's frustrating knowing that we happily spend a fuck ton on these events no one cares about but won't spend $500 a year on software to help the entire organization and to save time..
Very frustrating.
