I currently work for a phone service provider, of which I will not name, and I’ve been there for less than a year, but what I’ve noticed so far is that we do not make enough for what we are tasked with every single day. Everything we need to know is extremely overwhelming, and we have to do about a million tasks that are absolutely ridiculous and overwhelming for only $13 an hour. First off, the job description said $20 an hour before my interview. Then when they accepted me, they told me it would be $13, and most employees makes around $20 with commission. First of all, after doing some very basic math, most employees maybe make around $16-17 an hour with commission. Still not $20. And after having to deal with ridiculous work conditions, abusive management, and ridiculous daily work requirements, I feel like unionizing is the best way to get fairly compensated. I’m haven’t been on this sub long, but from what I see, unionizing seems like the best way to stick it to the higher ups and get a wage to actually survive in this world. The only problem is I have no idea what to do when it comes to starting a union, so I thought I’d post here to get some advice. Hopefully with some help I’ll be able to help change the system along with the rest of you.
