Got hired 6 months ago as a marketing assistant. Job requirements was a design degree and a portfolio. I have a biology degree , but also a pretty descent graphic design portfolio.
These past 6 months I’ve created flyers , brochure covers , edited catalogs. All with Photoshop , Indesign and Illustrator.
Lately my boss has been micromanaging like crazy. Wrote me instructions how to resize an image into a square , expected me to resize 300 images into squares one by one. My boss was unaware that photoshop has an automation feature that will do all that for you at one time.
My marketing team is a joke and JUST started using adobe projects like 3 years ago. They’re all close to retiring. Everything created by our team looks like it’s from 2002. They download illustrator templates from shutter stock for their brochures, even though we’re a million dollar company.
My boss also once told me to rename 1200 images from .jpeg to .jpg.
Needless to say, I’ll be leaving soon.
