I started a new job 3 weeks ago. The boss would just tell me the day before when I would work next. I asked to be put on the schedule and he said he would but then never did. 4 days ago the boss left early and didn’t tell me when my next shift was. I left my phone number so they could contact me and let me know. I didn’t hear anything until 10 this morning when they told me I was scheduled for today and wanted to see if I could come in. I said no. In the text I was sent they said they have a Facebook group where the schedule is posted and that now they would add me. It’s been all day and I haven’t been added. I know the boss is going to be pissed next time I see him, and I feel like I’m not an asshole for not going in today, but idk. It’s a small company so I probably really screwed them over, but also I gave them ample opportunity to let me know. If they’d texted last night or at some point over the 4 days I would have gone in. If they give me shit or ask why I didn’t come in would I be justified turning it on him and saying it’s not my fault that he has poor management skills? I’m thinking of quitting soon so I don’t really care about the long term relationship with him. I guess is that reasonable of me or should I be apologetic that i didn’t come in. I wasn’t busy, it was just a matter of principle to me
