I was Disciplined for getting water for my coworkers

I (19m) work as a landscaper for a large out-of-state company. I work 8 hours a day usually overtime 5 days a week obviously I work outside being a landscaper and this summer has been one of the hottest on record for the state I live in. We carry water in the back of the trailer that we haul our equipment in and on this particular day we happen to run out towards the end of the day however it's still 90+ degrees outside. After I paid for the water out of my OWN pocket I walked back and gave out the water to my coworkers. The next day I get a text from my boss explaining that he was informed I left the worksite while still being on the clock and that this was “stealing company time” and as a result, I will have my hours cut for the next week as I “lack respect for the company and its time” and “professionalism”. I've been working this job the entire summer and really need the money before I go back to school so I don't know if I should quit or suck it up.
