So basically title. I, (15nb), just got hired. I’m most likely starting some time next week~ish.
My mom has worked in the Customer Service industry for sixteen years, making barely above minimum wage. I’m making fifty cents above IL’s minimum wage, at 12.50/hr. On to the meat of this:
If any of these happen three times in any week, I’m gone. The job is a twenty minute drive from my house and I can get a better job else where.

Get yelled at by any sort of management. I am fifteen. You a grown ass man. Fuck off.
- Any sort of bigotry. This in Yee Haw Cornfields Illinois. I’m black, I’m not going to get paid minimum wage just to get harassed for my race.
- Refusal in Time Off. I have two events already planned. They’re both concerts, so they’re not exactly able to be rescheduled. One of them is a Russian group who was last in America in twenty fourteen. If I don’t get those dates off, I’m quitting. I would much rather be moshing to a Russian experimental group than get paid 12.50/hr. This will apply to any future concerts as well. Do I take my music seriously? Yes.
- “Work To The Bone” type managers. Again, I am young. I have diagnosed knee issues, and if I’m in pain I’m sitting down. If I’m mentally exhausted I’m taking time off. I also have ADHD, so being overstimulated is a risk and I will be accommodating myself adequately. What that means? No idea.

Also, it might seem like I’m going in with a negative look, but I’m also excited. I’m excited to have coworkers, get a paycheque, be able to spend money on things I want without feeling guilty. My first pay cheque? Going 1000% toward an insane amount of dice (Avid DND player). I’m excited to be the stereotypical “Teen behind the counter” stereotype. Is that weird? 1000%. Do i care? No, not really. I study linguistics for fun, of course I’m weird.
TLDR: This isn’t needed but stream Traumazine, Froukje, S10, and Arca. You might have to read a few paragraphs but hey music recommendations!
