Graduation Day

I started a new job 11/2021 that required me to get a specific license. This consisted of 2 weeks of studying and a 3 day virtual class of teaching the material. In order to keep the position I had to pass the test. It was a stressful process but me and 20 other employees passed. The next day we immediately went into learning our role. So from 12/2021 until the end of January we’d be on zoom for 8 hours a day discussing policies and procedures. Fast forward to February we start the job with a lot of help and support. All of this is leading up to us “graduating” from training which means we won’t have the help and support moving forward. I started a new job 11/2021 that required me to get a specific license. This consisted of 2 weeks of studying and a 3 day virtual class of teaching the material. So from 12/2021 until the end of January we’d be on zoom for 8 hours a day discussing policies and procedures. Fast forward to February we start the job with a lot of help and support. All of this is leading up to us “graduating” from training which means we won’t have the help and support moving forward. So today was graduation day and there was a brief PowerPoint of pictures we submitted and inspirational quotes. We got 45 minutes off the job to attend this meeting which was decent but then one of the instructors says something that made me realize how much I hate corporate America and 9-5’s. The instructor says “We couldn’t have anything mailed to your houses to reward you but I did some negotiating and for all of your hard work and effort we are rewarding you all with time.” I immediately thought we were getting the day off or extra PTO lol. The instructor then says “Instead of a 35 minute lunch you all can come back in 45 minutes!” So our reward today was 10 extra minutes on our lunch. Happy Graduation Day everyone! Wooo!

TLDR: studied and trained hard for two months and was rewarded with an extra 10 minutes for lunch.
