I work for Schulte Hospitality Group in one of their hotels. The managers are great and I feel like I can speak my mind to them, but when it comes to asking for a higher wage I tend to hold back. Mainly because I feel like I don’t have an elaborated argument up my sleeve or facts about the company that I can use against them if they try to tell me they can’t afford increasing their wages.
I see their balance sheet every day and their profits are in the 50k+ most days, and in just one hotel out of the hundreds they own. But somehow they still can’t manage to pay a living wage to their staff? Where is all that money going? I’m curious about how much the top dogs of this company get paid and how they share the pieces of the pie.
The company is based in Kentucky, and I also wonder if the heads of the organization are those GOP boomers that hate working class people. In the end I’m just thinking if there’s a possibility for change in my workplace or if I should just move to a different company.
Does anyone in this sub could guide me on how to start researching what’s going on at the top of this company? I really want to empower my coworkers and persuade my managers to make changes but I don’t know where to start.
