“actually some of these people are costing me money”

I went to a interview today, for a job at a company selling heirloom seeds. I go into the warehouse and there's prob 10 people all at table counting seed and making orders. During the interview, the manager was explaining to me that in the last two years they had seen a lot of sales and were growing so much that he had purchased two seed counting machines and was looking for people to run the machines. He went on to explain that he needed to hire some people to run the machines so he could cut some of the people in the other room counting by hand. He said some of the seeds have to be manually packed, but “actually, some of these people are costing me money and I need to cut them but I can't until I get people to run the machines.” How do they do…
