may not be the right place for this but wanting to know if the tipping policy is legal

So, i work at a place where we get tips through credit cards (write on receipts) and by cash, before the tipping would be divided evenly by all the in stores at the end of the night, which i was fine with. They recently enacted a new policy where whoever is signed in on the till (the machine we take orders and complete orders from) gets all the credit tips and everyone else gets the cash tips split. usually, the assistant manager or manager is the one on till but i think they will put other people signed into the till, but it hasn't happened for me because i have been working about a day a week because of another job i do. i think in a perfect world this would work like a full-time job but with a part time minimum wage job it doesn't make sense. this seems…
