Started a new temp jobs that is hopelessly mismanaged and has lots of cultural diversity for better or worst. They have this PPE mandate where you can’t be on the floor (warehouse job) without your gloves and goggles even if it’s to fold cardboard. I forgot my stuff at home and I get pulled off my working line mid shift to get another set.
I walk up to the office to get another pair and they tell me it’s gonna cost me 6$ to get a new pair of both gloves and glasses. I do the math and it equals to about 20mins of my time base on my hourly rate . Instead of wasting my time paying them for shit I already have, I take up their time getting my equipment. Took a while but I made it back to work no problem. They sent me off to the break room right before second break and then fuss at me for leaving to my car during that time. I’m new and told them I didn’t know their was a problem with me hanging in lot during break. They proceeded to write me up for leaving earlier and told me I was gone for too long. Long story short I didn’t sign and was asked to leave early.
