Wage Expectation Ended Interview

I just had an interview at a furniture store for an Administration role. It wasn't something I was coveting at all, I'm sort of ready to just take whatever to make some income while I find something decent but I can't believe the reaction I got. He asked me a series of odd questions. It was a very informal interview, employees at the front door were very rude. I sat through about ten minutes and he asked me what my wage expectations were. I said at least 16 dollars an hour. He threw the pen down and said well any questions? I said no. He abruptly said that is all and said goodbye. He was visibly irritated that I gave that number and I'm in Canada, where 16 dollars an hour is not nearly enough to survive on your own.
