So earlier this week I posted how I got in trouble for jumping off a call due to an emergency where something broke and my son had a hand full of glass. Well it gets better. Today there was a follow up to the call basically saying that if I don't make a “big shift” I likely won't be there by the end of the month. Big shift in what? Well, there are two coworkers who have gossiped and spread lies about me. They were annoyed at me and embellished what happened to make me look like an ass. I even sent over the emails to show what I said word for word and my boss refused to read them. I didn't know they were gossiping about me until today when everything came to a head. I tried to explain what happened on my end and was immediately interrupted, told I was being defensive and if I continue to “be defensive” I will be fired. So apparently I just have to allow people to spread lies about me and be TOTALLY cool with it. I was trying to figure out what the word was for what she is doing and my husband reminded me of gas lighting. I am aggressively looking for a new job but the current job market is complete shit with all the lay offs. Oh but wait there's more, I took a $25K pay cut to work for this company because I was promised it would be amazing. Now 2.5 months in it turns out I work with a bunch of high schoolers who talk shit behind your back.
