“Do you want to do it or do you want me to?”

Whenever there is a task or something comes up, I have a coworker who asks this question….it’s actually quite irritating because it’s constant and I feel like it lacks taking initiative. I always end up saying I will do it which I know it’s my fault. How does one navigate this? Lol
