Interviewer told me that the boss sometimes makes people cry, but it’s okay because he “doesn’t actually mean it”

I posted this in another antiwork group and figured it would fit here as well. This happened last month at an interview for a financial advising receptionist position. Pay $12-15/hr. All things said to me by the interviewer who would've been my direct supervisor. I showed up 15 minutes early and still had to wait 30 minutes before being seen. the interviewer then told me that if I'm late 3 times within a year (even if just by 5 minutes) I'll lose my job and that they take punctuality very seriously The boss apparently makes people cry sometimes but “he doesn't actually mean it” The boss will sometimes reprimand you and it'll sound like he's joking, or he'll be joking but it sounds like he's reprimanding you, and it's up to you to figure it out. 1. I showed up 15 minutes early and still had to wait 30 minutes before being seen. the interviewer then told me that if I'm late 3 times within a year (even if just by 5 minutes) I'll lose my job and that they take punctuality very seriously

  2. The boss apparently makes people cry sometimes but “he doesn't actually mean it”

  3. The boss will sometimes reprimand you and it'll sound like he's joking, or he'll be joking but it sounds like he's reprimanding you, and it's up to you to figure it out.

  4. They wanted me to remove my very tiny nose studs (i have one in each nostril) and tattoos obviously covered because the boss thinks it's “unprofessional”.

  5. They wanted me to change out my 4g ear plugs (they're small and glass, no holes in them; most people dont even realize my ears are stretched) to “tiny diamonds”

  6. 8am-530pm Monday-Thursday, although sometimes you have to stay till 8pm, and only a 30 minute lunch break (note it's a very busy side of town where it'll be impossible to get anything, eat, and come back within 30 minutes).

  7. 8am-12pm on Fridays so you have no excuse to request off since you have Fridays to schedule all your appointments and things

  8. Suit and tie/very formal attire. Which you pay for, of course, on $12-15/hr (along with tiny diamond earrings)

  9. The receptionists are the only ones expected to show up at 8am. everyone else, including the boss, show up anytime between 8-12, if they show up at all.

Needless to say, I told them they weren't a good fit.
