I started a new job Saturday and ended it the same day. I was told I was not in a uniform that was never explained to me and that I was late.
I was told to show up at 10:30 and when I showed up at 10:26, I get asked why I'm late. I showed them the text that showed they said 10:30 and they said “I ment 10” as if I was supposed to know that. I apologized for not being able to read minds and didn't know that was a prerequisite.
I was then told I should've been in uniform…Their uniforms are provided at the job site. After this longest 2hrs of orientation I've ever had, I proceeded to tell them this wasn't going to work and blocked their number.
Moral of this story is that if you have expectations, please express them clearly. No pay rate is worth a day 1 write up. Years of being underpaid and overworked taught me that and you'd think management would know just as well.
