Hi all, so I 23m work at amazon and it's been hell the last few weeks. Our building is constantly “understaffed” and reportedly management started the new hires at $18 an hour but it still wasn't enough. People keep quitting (rightly so) and I (as well as my coworker) have been stuck doing work that requires many more employees by ourselves
For the past two weeks they've been scheduling me in an area of the building that requires 2x employees to run smoothly all by myself. Instead of sending me backup the PA just comes around to yell at me and tell me I need to work faster, micromanage, and flip out over the most insignificant shit every 5min.
Getting to my point, last night I was busting my ass hard because my area got hit with a bunch of fucking boxes (more than the already ungodly amount) and lights were going off and shit. I manage to get it under control and my bitch ass manager comes around smiling saying, “ThAnK YoU So MuCh FoR WoRkInG So HaRd. I'm GoInG To GivE YoU SoMeThIng.”
Fast forward to today and I'm slaving on my shift. Some bitch ass PA comes around with a laptop and waves me over. I stop what I'm doing and walk over only for this guy to show me a half-assed paragraph typed on a pdf that said something to the extent of, “u/awesometjgreen worked very hard and was a TeAm PlAyEr LaSt NiGhT.” He scanned my badge and walked off…
That's it…definitely no raise…no stale candy….no plastic cup or $5 T-shirt……just a paragraph….on a pdf I have zero access to . And these fuckers wanna complain about “NoBoDy WaNtS To WoRk. I don't care who gets mad, I hate modern day labor with a passion.
