I started a new job a feww weeks ago. Training was fully remote. They had mandatory videos to watch and complete a follow up test. The videos equaled around 10 hours that I had to watch. I was told all the time was paid. Relieved my first check and noticed a discrepancy. I reached out to oayroll and they stated that not all the videos were going to be paid even though they were mandatory. I live in California. Any job I've ever had I was always paid for watching the mandatory videos. I am now going back and forth with payroll. I feel this is illegal. Can anyone point me in the right direction? The trainers stressed how we had to complete all these mandatory videos before we finished our remote training which I did. I stayed up late watching these videos and doing the necessary tests.
