I graduated 2 months ago and a week before graduation I got a job offer. It’s an office job in my field and it’s my first “real” job. I’ve been at this job for 2 months and I had to pretty much learn most things on my own as my training consisted of my manager running me through how things work for like 30 min then giving me things to finish. The first month was incredibly overwhelming but I’m trying so hard to just make it through this one year contract, anyways today my manager showed up with an intern, introduced her to me then was like “you’ll do the training, shes gonna be shadowing you for today”. I wouldn’t have minded it but the intern won’t stop talking, I couldn’t get any work done today because anytime I tried to train them or teach them something they cut me off to talk about something completely unrelated. There’s like 5 people around with much more experience than me so I don’t understand why I’m supposed to be doing the training? Can someone please tell me if I’m crazy or is this not normal? Because I talked to my dad about it and he kept saying that this is how work is and that it’s normal and now I’m questioning my sanity
