I’m quitting my job that makes me miserable today!

After almost 5 years of no raise, being denied the chance to go to university to further my career in optical sales by becoming an optician and having my hours cut TWO times this year while they hire other people that I’m supposed to train, I’ve finally decided to choose what makes me happy and quit! I’m a little scared because I have no back up plan, but I feel free and happy for the first time in well, almost 5 years. My spouse is supportive and is encouraging me to take on whatever I feel is best for me, not what’s best for a company. (And I’ll finally have weekends off!) I’m tired of being a doormat in the hopes that I might get more than a crumb at the collective dinner table. Thanks, anti-work!
