Hertz is a rental car company that was on the verge of bankruptcy when Carl Icahn, a single person, poured billions into the company to “save it” buying up 39% of the shares of the company after an accounting scandal.Hertz went bankrupt in 2020 during the pandemic and should've gone out of business, but they were forgiven for their debt which makes no sense.
It's a terrible place to work.
It was listed one of the worst companies to work for in 2018 which I can wholeheartedly confirm. Corporate was a soulless and miserably toxic place where turnover was frequent, pay was terrible, and people got fired often for the silliest of reasons. I had a new manager that wanted only women on her team, so she instantly made it a mission to get me fired. She made a case with HR against me for having errors in my punctuation in my writing. Literally couldn't find any other reason to try and fire me so she went with that. It's honestly hilarious.
Their entry level job is a “manager trainee” and you're required to sell your ass off. You don't get promoted without up selling stupid shit like Sirius radio, insurance on the car, up selling into a bigger car. You work your ass of cleaning every single car that comes back until it's spotless, which is impossible because people TRASH the cars. They bring children and dump food, drinks, bring mud and dirt into the cars, smoke in them. You work yourself to the bone for 40k a year if you're lucky, and other people get rich off your hard work

This is a scumbag company who pays employees who work themselves to the bone almost nothing. Saved by a billionaire, and then bankruptcy court instead of going out of business. This crap company literally shouldn't exist but capitalism has ensured it can continue on. how is this possible? They're literally criminals.
