Unethical former exec posting about ethics on LinkedIn

I often had to interact with CE in my role because they had no idea about my job function, so as a mid-level employee, I had to explain some pretty basic things to them, which I understand now is more common, but they would know if they had any work experience in my function . Years ago, my boss’s boss reported to a clueless executive (CE). I often had to interact with CE in my role because they had no idea about my job function, so as a mid-level employee, I had to explain some pretty basic things to them, which I understand now is more common, but they would know if they had any work experience in my function .

Later on, I figured out CE, in my opinion and according to my ethics, is not ethical.

  1. They lied about what kind graduate degree they got
  2. They oversaw a layoff that included a new mother employee on leave, violating FMLA (from my understanding of FMLA)
  3. They had no experience in my function, but oversaw my function yet couldn’t admit that they didn’t know anything about it
  4. They hired their spouse as a consultant for the company (a venture backed startup at the time) for several hundred dollars per hour
  5. They blocked me moving to a better manager because they were afraid of my manager (my manager there was the worst of my career, but CE was an executive and two levels above them…)
  6. They freaked out over a routine business procedure and wouldn’t drop it because they had no experience in my function to know it’s routine and wouldn’t believe me or our vendor who was also a subject matter expert

I guess one could say this is more minor stuff in the grand scheme of things, but my time at this company was awful, so I think that also plays into how I feel about CE. I regularly had to pull 12 hour days, my eyesight got worse in my first 3 months, and my direct boss had unrealistic expectations and also had no experience in our function besides her time at the company.

CE was laid off in an executive shakeup after I left the company. They joined another company after a while. A post from CE on LinkedIn that just popped up in my feed was talking about how they were interviewed about their new company and want to make sure the new company’s focus is done ethically. I can’t help but laugh because this company also has sexual harassment drama from when CE has been an executive there. Clearly they haven’t changed. I just can’t stand the hypocrisy we see everyday over this type of stuff. Like how do these people sleep at night?
