Three weeks ago I got Covid from work and brought it home to my partner who was granted short term disability at full pay (different company), while my job did not grant this and took all but 6 hours of my PTO. My office mate also got Covid and worked from home while he was sick. Good on him, but I could not physically do that.
We were forced to come back to work while still testing positive and just told to wear a mask for 5 days after 5 days of quarantine.
After realizing they have no Covid relief program and that I have 6 hours of PTO to last until January 1st, I finally realized everything wrong with my job.
I am forced to work from the office when the entirety of my team works from home full time despite the job ad saying this would be WFH.
I am not fully trained and when I request training I am blown off. I point out improvements and they fall on deaf ears.
My manager (recently promoted) is overwhelmed and under supported. She also doesn’t know how to do all aspects of the job.
A huge realization for me is that my coworkers (everyone besides my manager) have been in the same roles with no rank promotions for decades. This is the definition of a dead end job. Like holy shit. How did I let myself get so scammed.
I’m applying to jobs again, but holy shit I feel like a fool.
