Ok so I work in IT and myself and one of my team members asked for a pay rise. We were both told no. We’re the lowest paid members of the team despite doing the same job as everyone else in my team. The other team members work in the north too so the cost of living is less. However we work in the south-east. They are paid more. Makes ZERO sense.
Anyway, my colleague has handed in his notice and they are finally advertising for his replacement. We’re IT Engineers but they are recruiting a Senior IT Engineer who will be paid more. Can someone explain the logic to that? Tells us we can’t be paid more but is happy to pay the replacement more? I think it’s my boss being spiteful. It has to be.
I applied for it & my boss had a go at me for doing so. Even though I’m literally the perfect candidate. I’m thinking of going to HR because it’s like he is going out of his way to be a twat towards me.
