Feels great to send off that 2 week notice.

Sorry for formatting on mobile. Been working for a global company that likes the color purple and ships stuff. 2 years in and I've gotten 1 raise of 1$ while taking on tons of new responsibilities in a shipping and print store. Wife just had a kid 4 months ago and the pay is not keeping us afloat, great review this year but raises don't take effect for at least 2 more months and the review was a month ago, no idea what I'd even be getting. Stress and bills and dealing with people who want things right now or with unreasonable time frames have driven me into a depression and have been drinking off the hook to cope.

Well I walked into a foundry my buddy works at and applied for a job, any job there because I'd basically be getting a 25% increase in pay. Interviewed on the spot asked if I even knew what position I would like to get and if I knew about the company. Said I knew they were a bronze casting place but that I'd take anything they had available.

Lady looks over my resume and notices I use to do QC for a steel mill that went under and said she had literally just posted an opening for a QC role. Met with the head of quality. Took a tour of the plant, set up the physical date for medical. I was floating off the ground with joy as I walked back out the gate.

Tipping point for calling off and walking into this interview, for months my manager who has honestly been amazing to work with so far scheduled me to work the next 2 weekends and gave everyone else time off knowing for months now that I've got my neices wedding next week and my little brother's the week after, my brother is military a d comes home maybe 2 times a year. I'll be good god damned if I'm missing either of these things.
