This Subreddit Has Changed My Outlook On Work & Life Forever

Hey guys for anyone reading this. This subreddit has changed my outlook on work life style balance, and I've came to the conclusion that the work life style balance is more important than just mindlessly working your guts out for nothing, and not being productive. From my understanding, of this subreddit it's not anti-work in the sense that everyone should sit around, and do nothing/be lazy. Personally speaking, I'll explain why, I support this cause, and my background as an blue collar conservative and want to get out of construction/skilled trades, and head towards a job, I actually like doing that's not gonna leave permanently disabled for the rest of my life. Not saying, construction is terrible, or bad. But, majority of the time it's a rather short career life in carpentry being on the tools itself.

By the time you reach 30-35 it's guaranteed you will probably have permanent injuries and can't work a physical job anymore. Okay, so like what are you going to do after that? Sure, I guess you can transition into a office based role in structural engineering, drafting, or some other type of job that your be ground will come in handy. But, honestly, I can't see other pathways after doing rough carpentry like framing, concrete slabs, installs, etc.

I mean, nothing with physical labour, I enjoy doing it, but I honestly didn't want to work more than 40 hours a week and just prefer a 9-5 job type of style. Sadly, the way most companies operate now of days didn't like that, and prefer to work 60 hours a week.

I mean it's kinda hard to maintain other interests like Lifting, MMA, Muay Thai, and doing physical doesn't help either. That's why, I prefer just a simple 9-5 and go home after work.

Yet, they call people lazy who didn't want to work 60 hours a week and just prefer a simple work lifestyle balance. Okay, cool so you are telling people who work in construction doing brick and block-laying, carpentry, plastering, plumbing, tilling are all just lazy who prefer to just do 35-40 hours are just lazy.

Okay, cool I'm perfectly happy to switch jobs with baby boomers who site in air conditioning offices doing paperwork and nothing else.

If you are reading this just do what makes you happy in life wither it's starting a business, working a lot of hours. Whatever you do you.

Sorry, but I have had enough of this toxic work culture for just asking for a simple right to have a life style balance between and apparently it's even bad to have that.

Yeah, no wonder people now are not so eager to waste their life. Life should be about enjoyment not wasting it away working 80 hours a week.

Do what makes you happy guys.

edit; its like 2am will go to bed lol may get upvoted
