I work in a restaurant named after a state that has bread that people like. I have worked there for almost 3 years now. I started off bussing but I moved from there to Hosting, to Togos where I leaned the menu and have worked my ass off and now I have become a server. Thanks to the broken system in the US in which the guest is expected to pay my wage via tips, I am now making $20-$30 / hour because of tips. I make a lot more now as a server, but yesterday i found out that my manager is trying to make me go back to Togo's because ever since I've been moved off Togos, things have fallen apart a bit in takeout orders because our company doesn't train new people very well. But from my point of view, that's not my problem. I'm not here to babysit new people. I'm not here to save you when you always ask more and more while giving me less. I worked my ass off to become a server and I'm not about to go back to making Togo wage, unless hes willing to pay me more for it. What should I tell my manager if he tries pulling this crap? I'm really anxious because my partner and I have been tight on money recently but have been staying afloat with my new position.
