My day starts when you text me

I just overheard a nurse or other medical professional (in scrubs) on the phone complaining about how their boss always texts them before they clock in. They were ranting about this and then I think they came to the conclusion to let their boss, the doctor, know they their day starts when they get their first text. Even at 6am or whenever (whether that means clocking in or just complaining about ‘dont text me’) I agree with this. Im tired of being texted or called off the clock. Even low paying jobs. I’ve had some bosses say ‘youre just a waiter, etc, you need to be able to pull it together for the team’ And im fucking sick of it. If im hourly, then im charging by the hour. Dont like it? Then wait till I clock in to talk to me I’ve had texts at 5am the morning of work,…

I’ve had texts at 5am the morning of work, that I would have to travel to a location 1 hr farther than normal, and be there an HOUR earlier than normal.

I refused to respond till the minute I would’ve left for the normal time and location.

Ill make exceptions for jobs that show respect, but jobs that show respect dont typically do that…
