I was just hired at a very large company that is known nationwide. The work is very labor intensive, and very dangerous. More than 200 deaths, and thousands of injuries have been reported since 2006. I have put in MANY hours of heavy physical labor shifts that last 12-22 hours in one day. In the past 3 days I put in a 12 hour day, a 16 hour day, and today I worked 18 hours, got off at 2am, and I am expected to be back at 10am, to work another 16-20 hour shift. I told the boss I needed to take a day off due to not physically being able to work myself to death for free. He told me he wouldn't have me back if I took the day off. I said that's fine, as I have not been paid ONCE since I started early July. I know I have a case here… Just don't know how I can get the ball rolling with no money to pay for a lawyer… We're talking hundreds of hours of pay here… Not to mention I was doing the work of multiple men who quit due to non payment.
