Do you guys think sitcom relationships might contribute to propaganda we see about workplace “family”?

I was talking with a friend that I hate the trend in sitcoms when the characters pair off conveniently with each other. The examples that come to mind are Karla/Turk, Elliot/JD from Scrubs. Basically everyone from the Office. Brooklyn 99 characters date each other and have best friend relationships. I'm sure you can think of other examples. Anyway, what this says about tv drama is for another sub, but I'm here to ask if this trend might be contributing to the notion that your work is family, and you should find happiness there. A lot of what I see on here is talking about work less and be happy with your family and friends. Ideas pretty opposed to each other. I'm not going to go full tinfoil hat and say it was planned, but perhaps inadvertently it makes people think they can have that fun and healthy relationship at work.…

I'm not going to go full tinfoil hat and say it was planned, but perhaps inadvertently it makes people think they can have that fun and healthy relationship at work. Not saying they can't, but how often to you meet your close-knit group of friends or one true love at the office as so many of these shows are suggesting. The people in these shows get married, are best men/bride grooms, godparents their friends kids, etc. Blessings to you if you are lucky enough to find this type of job, but I don't think it's realistic. It wouldn't bother me so much if I didn't see girls on Tinder saying they are looking for a Jim to their Pam.

Point is this trend might be a fantasy that, while charming, gives an unrealistic impression of most workplaces. I'd like to hope most people can see it that way, but I'd like to hear yall opinions too.
