I went to my boss today to ask for a raise. Used the 50-30-20 rule as argument that 50% of my income should be on needs but more than 50 is being spent on rent alone. His response? “Maybe you should try living a cheaper lifestyle.” Oh, of course. Because the multi-billion dollar company we work for can’t afford to pay me any more….
