I used to have a friend who made this unnecessary comment about my other friend’s job. Basically, friend 1, let’s call her Jillian, graduated with a Psychology degree. She tried applying to several white collar jobs and didn’t get contacted back by any of them. She ended up applying to Ulta.
Friend 2, let’s call her Stephanie, sarcastically said, “She’s applying to Ulta? That’s a good use of her degree.” Stephanie routinely switches her career aspirations and hasn’t even graduated college. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, but she sure loves judging people’s life choices. I can’t wait for the day she graduates and sees how hard it can be to actually make use of your degree.
She also made fun of me for having a $150 phone and not an iPhone for the longest, even when I couldn’t afford one at the time. I actually confronted her on her capitalist brain washing.
It’s just so icky. Nothing wrong with trying to survive, especially when you’re trying and companies aren’t contacting you back. Jillian didn’t apply to Ulta because she’s passionate about working there; it’s what was available.
