Work place accident, PA.
My brother-in-law was hit this morning, at work by a forklift, in the warehouse, during the morning meeting. There is no question as to what happened, everyone saw it. Forklift driver F'd up.
Went to the ER. Nothing broke, soft tissue damage, stay off it for at least 5 days, here are crutches follow up with your doctor.
He gets home, feels no pain, on good meds. The company calls and told him he has to go to a workman's comp doctor now! Currently, there is a massive storm and huge power outages, and flooding. The company doesn't care, they had the appointment set and told him he had to go now.
He went. The doctor there said you're fine. You need to go back to work. I'll let you have the afternoon off, but you're cleared to work tomorrow. He gets home. Peeved, in pain, on crutches, the company made him come back at work to handle the accident paperwork.
He was told he had to come in tomorrow and work the guard shack for the next three days then go back and work the warehouse floor. He has never worked as a guard, only on the warehouse floor. He has no idea how he will even be able to get across the parking lot on crutches, let alone do anything. He's in his late 50's and afraid he's not going to bounce back that quick and that he could lose his job and they cant afford that.
I told him to check and have the ER paperwork sent to his doctor to review since they won't let him off to see his even see his doctor tomorrow.
Ideas?
