How many hours a week do you actually work?

I work 40 hours a week to the second, like actual work. I’m in a call center (remote) where every second of my day is managed and I have calls coming in every 45 seconds. I can go hours without taking my hands off of my keyboard as I’m constantly typing complaints or submitting tickets on behalf of the customer. I have no meetings, no chatting with other team members, nothing. Just me, my computer and headset for 8 hours a day. It’s miserable and I do not recommend it to anyone. (Edit: I start a new job in two weeks so quitting soon) How many hours a week do you actually work vs just being present?
