I work for a large property management company as a community manager. I’ve been in this job since the beginning of this year. My boss was supposed to spend a week on-site with me to teach me how to do this job. They spent 45 minutes on a Friday with me.
The property is super far behind on certifying tenants and being in compliance with federal guidelines. It was that way before I even took this job. I’ve had to basically teach myself what to do in order to get files certified and sent to our corporate office for approvals, which gets tons of corrections sent back, as I never got the proper training.
When I put invoices in, it’s split a certain way between properties (I run more than one account), and I asked my boss how to split. They told me a percentage and our accountant emailed us saying that the split was incorrect and the invoices were denied. My boss just said “Oh sorry about that! [My name] is still new!”
That’s just one instance.
Now our corporate office is on my back about how far out of compliance this property is. My boss told me they were going to write me up and put me on a schedule so that I can be “more efficient for what the property needs of me”.
I’d report all this to HR, but they’re all friends. They go on vacations together. My living situation is tied to the job as they supply me an apartment to live in. I took this job to escape a domestic situation. I don’t know what to do. I’m just here venting I guess.
