HR is not meant for the employee’s benefit.

I applied to a promotional opportunity last week and in the interview was asked why I want to take this position and why I want to leave my current one. I told the interviewer there isn’t much work to be done at my current role after a certain hour and that I want to expand my skillsets and knowledge. HR called me into their office after to say I was “too negative” to be considered for the role and then they want someone who’s “enthusiastic” about showing up to work for them. Today they sent me an email encouraging me to apply for the same job, just with a shitty schedule (Monday, Thurs-Saturday 4pm – 2:30am). I just laughed that they think my “negativity” will magically disappear when I fuck up my circadian rhythm and normal way of life to work the same job I wanted originally during a schedule…

HR preferred to hire externally over promote from within, something they apparently pride themselves on doing. The only way to escape this favoritism is to take myself elsewhere. It’s so fucked up that HR hates my guts that much and then insults me with a schedule I didn’t want. There’s a reason I didn’t apply for that.
