NY made a move in favor of workers. They quietly passed legislation that requires employers to offer sick time. For example, large companies (100+ employees) are required to offer 56 hours of sick time. Now for the better news – as part of the legislation, employers are not allowed to retaliate in any way for using those 56 hours! My direct manager just had to correct the reviews of everyone on my team because of this new law. So, if you are in NY, make sure you use that sick time!
