I work at a major super market and have started almost 4 weeks ago
In that time I have put in about 150 hours, working my contracted 15 plus boat loads of overtime, I have a manual job and am in replenishment
My boss has asked me twice to come in on my days off, I have one day off then I'm back in work (I don't have 2 consecutive days off) so I said no because I would be working about 6-7 In a row and I was aching like a twat
Last week I did 50 hrs and was supposed to work the Tuesday for 6 hrs, this was overtime.
I was sick that night and couldn't come in so I text him and said that. He replies 5hrs later and says that I should have phoned an absence line of which I was never made aware.
Naturally I ate humble pie and apologized. Today I come in and he takes me into his office and tells me everything I've done wrong, here is a quick version of what he said
It has been brought to my attention that you cannot be relied on to support the store as I have given you 2 opportunities to do this, both of which you have declined futhermore you were caught by the store manager on your phone and said “don't worry buddy leave it with me” (I had an email from my collage which I thought was a timetable) i interrupted him here and said “(manager name) I did not say that at all' he said he didn't care. He then went on to say how me putting my arm around my girlfriend, when we are clocked off and we are on our way out with the store closed “doesn't happen here”
He blocked all my overtime and said I wasn't reliable (after doing 30hrs overtime last week ontop of a 15hr contract) and said if I was there over 12 weeks I would have been sacked on the spot!
I was again humble, and said I would improve and how it wouldnt happen again. I also explained my situation with the collage email
After talking to my girlfriend she was absolutely disgusted and said she would have kicked off big time
Anyway my 4 week review is on Saturday (it's Thursday now) and after talking to one of my colleagues he feels I am going to be sacked on that day
What do I do???????
