I'm an independent contractor, I haven't had a boss in a few years now. It's put a lot into perspective.
For example:
“I'll ask my boss to see if I can move” (works from home)
“I'll ask my boss if I can take the day off” (several months from now)
“My boss is gonna yell at me”
“When I'm retired, I'm gonna travel everywhere!”
“I'm too tired after work to do this (insert activity required for general health)”
