Quit after my first day. Is it worth trying to get what I earned during that shift?

This might be a mess, but I'm unsure of what to do here. I got hired at a Gold's Gym as a janitor. I could list all the reasons why the job sucked, but overall I knew I'd be underpaid and taken advantage of. I finished my shift and had to think about if it was worth the hour commute, pay, rude clients, and unsafe conditions. It's definitely not. I texted the manager and let her know I wasn't coming back. She only asked that I return a uniform I wasn't even given back. I made about $67 during the shift and I know it isn't a lot, but it would at least pay my phone bill. I read that a job has to pay your last wages within 72 hours and I have a feeling they might try to avoid it. I'm unsure of what I could do if…
