An Educated Proletariat

Many people have seen that Roger Freeman said, “We are in danger of producing an educated proletariat. … That’s dynamite! We have to be selective on who we allow [to go to college].” This influenced the policies about student loans. The first ever Secretary of Education, Horace Mann, believed citizens could not sustain ignorance and freedom. His vision was public school for everyone. Since this is the antiwork group, what does it look like to have an educated proletariat? And how can we ensure this education through traditional and/or nontraditional means given the brokenness of our education system? For reference, I used to be an educator and am one of those who burned out on the bad pay and poor treatment.
