I’m working in a big and known resort.
Apart from all departments being understaffed af, so managers can collect bonuses every month/year for keeping the budget low and not overspending..
Latest trend, that has been going on for the last 2-3 months is that the housekeeping manager, instead of ordering refills or single-use shower gel bottles for the toiletries supplies, is actually using old bottles and is filling them up with water so he doesn’t have to spend a big portion of the budget money on them.
He has also been asking different companies for shampoo/conditioner/body lotion samples and has been able to refill them for free for the past months.
(This didn’t work with the shower gels, because people tend to use a lot of product, thus the plain water)
Also, instead of 3 uniforms/person, he is now only giving 1/p and is urging employees to wash their own uniforms at home, even if it’s stated in the contract that it’s the hotel’s responsibility, because the laundry service is too expensive.
Min price per night is $1500.
