Gave my two week notice today. Responded with today my last day. Employer said they were withholding my last paycheck until I returned all company property.
Main focus being training manuals, which were returned months prior. Assistant manager told company owner never returned. I'm struggling with my word against theirs.
Guess I'm asking what my legal actions might be. Been told might bite the bullet and just let them short my check for the books (with an itemized receipt). Manuals can be several hundred dollars.
Small company. First hire under new owner. Felt like a gamble. Gave em my all for a year. Found something better.
