I'm 29f I live in Canada and for 8 years I worked at a McDonalds in my town. I started there when I was 21 worked my butt off and gave my 100% that's just the way I was raised. After years of slaving away for that place I was never giving much praise. Came in early,stayed late, picked up shifts did anything they wanted. I'm so good at that job the local paper did a story on me and my customer service because I'm so up beat and happy in spite of that place. So recently I found out I make less then everyone that works with me in the morning. I was pissed and insulted. So fuck them a lady who knows me from the window gave me a gave me a refrence to her boss at the local University for a catering company. I asked around and everyone I spoke to said it a Fantastic place to work for. I got the interview showed up got hired on the spot! Come to find out it's a union job and the pay starts at 23.5 an hour! It's part time but the pay is about the same or more! I still cant believe it's over no more crying no being belittled my management, I can finally start focusing on my physical/mental health because this sub and everyone here showed me its possible.
