I work at a family run restaurant in A rural area and we pool tips. At the end of the night cash tips are put into the register and we are told they are then split up and put into our paychecks along with the credit card tips. We are not told tip totals at the end of the night and We do not have access to our paystubs, which is through an online payroll service.
We just found out that these cash tips have not been paid out since the restaurant opened (a server figured it out and confronted the owners), the owner is claiming it was the fault of the payroll company and that they will handle it and pay us. This is not the first time something like this has happened at this family’s businesses. Is there a way for me to report anonymously as to not receive backlash? It’s a very small town.
